Microsoft Fans, Campaigning Boycott Opera

Posted by Computerku | Thursday, June 18, 2009

Opera including as the main party which dragged Microsoft to the European Commission related to the case of Internet Explorer (IE) bundling on Windows operating system. Bundling system is considered anti-competitive and disadvantage others browser developers.

Apparently there are groups of Microsoft fans, at www.jcxp.net which does not accept that case,

so they launched a campaign to boycott Opera. As a solidarity action, fans are requested to delete Opera browser from PC or other devices.
"Today we propose a comprehensive boycott of all Opera browser," said David Taraso, group editor in JCXP blog. Taraso blame Opera who has triggered EU regulators to investigate this case.

European Commission investigation over Microsoft, are triggered by Opera complains, which has been a long time criticizing Microsoft domination. Although Google and Mozilla then “join to sue Microsoft”, Taraso considers that Opera is the main actor.

"All this, is no more than a company's efforts to get their non popular browser to include in Windows. Opera browser clearly angry because they have death and even defeated by Google Chrome and Safari, “Said Taraso as quoted by detikINET from TheRegister, Wednesday (17/6/2009).

Due to that anti-competition case, Microsoft decided to ship their newest operating system, Windows 7 without IE bundling. However, Opera considers that solution offered by Microsoft is not yet sufficient. (Fyk / rou).
